John Penwarden is an accredited appraiser of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI, P.App.) designation. In addition, John has a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics from York University.

John has been in the appraisal business in excess of 40 years and specializes in many areas of ICI appraisal assignments including, free standing commercial, retail plazas, restaurants, franchise fast food and coffee outlets, office buildings, tourist commercial, hotels, motels, resort, industrial, multiple residential apartment buildings and townhouse complexes, golf courses and residential mixed use development parcels.

John consults on site selection for clients; has provided evidence in arbitration and court cases and has acted as an arbiter. John also conducts agricultural appraisals particularly in the winery industry. John has also appraised specialty type properties such as funeral homes, bowling alleys, trailer parks and campgrounds and car washes to name a few.

The purpose of the appraisals completed by John include financing, partnership buy ins and divisions, income tax cases, components of share valuations, fire insurance claims, assessment appeals, expropriation, arbitration, mediation, court cases, power of sale, title insurance to name a few.
